Choosing a name for a business can be challenging. After writing a long list of ideas, I finally chose Prosper Consulting because I loved the word “prosperity.” It means the condition of being successful or thriving, especially economic well-being.

From that starting point I wrote our Vision and Mission.

·       Vision: We create prosperity one interaction at a time.
·       Mission: We enable the full potential in others to improve workplaces and the lives of our clients.

Then that led me to think about how the employer and employee relationship should work. I call it The Prosperity Exchange:

·       Employer Provides: Rewards valued by employees
·       Employee Provides: Time, talent, effort, and results
·       Employer Success: Funds employee dreams

I believe that we can choose to make a positive difference by our daily interactions with others.

Is that idealistic? Yes.

But if I’m going to strive for something, I want it to be big and bold. I want to leave the world a better place than how I found it.
