Whenever I am speaking, I ask the audience questions. I want them to share their wisdom and insights with each other.
As I have gotten older, I realize that I don’t need to have all the answers. I do need to know what questions to ask. And I need to know who to ask.
Then I need to sit back and listen. Really listen. Then ask more questions.
I don’t believe that I’m the most knowledgeable person in the room. Ever.
I believe in empowering others by shining a light on what makes them great. And then encouraging them to share that greatness.
I believe that allowing others to demonstrate their knowledge, understanding, and perspectives creates opportunities for connection, conversation, and better decision making.
So, if you are in the audience when I am speaking be sure to be ready for my questions. I will be listening to your answers. And so will everyone else.
