When I partner with an employer, I look for ways to improve their performance using compensation programs and communications.

I use a business case framework focused on the following:
1. Problem Statement
2. Current State
3. Future State
4. Alignment to Business Goals
5. Action Plan to Bridge the Gap
You can use the following two factors to think through prioritization:
1. Effort – Low to High
2. Impact – Low to High
Here is how the work can be categorized:
· Quick Wins = High Impact, Low Effort = Complete more of these.
· Big Projects = High Impact, High Effort = Manage and block your time to spend on projects.
· Filler Tasks = Low Impact, Low Effort = Reduce your time spent on these tasks.
· Hard Slogs = Low Impact, High Effort = Let go of these altogether.
Where are you spending your time today? This week? This month? This quarter? This year?
Planning is critical to success. So, is sustained effort on the right things.
