When we don’t accept what is, we struggle.
I continue to learn that lesson over and over. I create my own suffering when I don’t accept reality.
Many years ago, I read a book by Byron Katie called Loving What Is: Four Questions That Can Change Your Life.
It did change my life because I learned to ask the first question which is, “Is it true?” And then I asked the second question which is, “Can you absolutely know that it's true?”
Google “The Work by Byron Katie” and you’ll read a process that can profoundly change how much difficulty you have in your life.
The challenge I have is using the four questions consistently. And I must be intentional and catch myself when I am thinking something that is not in alignment with accepting reality.
I’m a work in progress. We all are.
And knowing I create my own suffering is big.
Changing my thoughts is even bigger.
