I've been thinking about my personal definition of success.
In my 20s it was my job title, how much I earned, and an apartment with a washer and dryer so I didn't have to go to the laundromat.
Then in my 30s it included getting married, having kids, and buying a house in the suburbs.
In my 40s it became a focus on my career, raising my kids, and adjusting to being a widow.
And now, it is different.
Now success is about more freedom. Choice.
Less work and busyness.
More time with those I love. Connection.
Less doing. More being.
Less rushing. More deep breaths.
Less pushing. More allowing.
Success is now about removing things and people. Letting go of what isn't supportive or moving me toward the life I want.
Challenging myself to slow down. Pausing.
Listening to myself and others.
It is an intentional softening. Being more open with fewer assumptions. Less judgment.
And success has become an abundance of love.
